The 42-year-old actress and comedienne recently announced she’s embarking on an eight-show book tour from Oct. 22-30 in support of her new collection of essays “Life Form.”
To kick off the quick jaunt, the former “Not Ready For Prime Time Player” will drop into New York City’s Town Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Other notable stops on the run include Boston (Oct. 23), Seattle (Oct. 24), Los Angeles (Oct. 25), Chicago (Oct. 28) and Washington, D.C. (Oct. 30).
As of now, tickets are available for all of Slate’s shows.

“Life Form” book
Slate’s second book “Life Form” hits shelves Oct. 22.
The collection of stories inspired by her life are told in five sections or “phases” of Slate’s past few years — Single, True Love, Pregnancy, Baby, and Ongoing — through “luminous, laugh-out-loud funny, unclassifiable essays that take the form of letters to a doctor, dreams of a stork, fantasy therapy sessions, gossip between raccoons, excerpts from an imaginary olden time-y play, obituaries, theories about post-partum hair loss, graduation speeches, and more.”

On top of the tour, Slate also has five huge TV and movie shows in the works. According to IMDb, here’s what’s next for her:
“It Ends with Us” tells the story of Lily (Blake Lively) who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life. A chance meeting with a neurosurgeon sparks a connection but Lily begins to see sides of him that are similar to her parents’ relationship. Justin Baldoni and Hasan Minhaj also star.
“The Electric State” centers around an orphaned teenager that traverses the American West with a sweet, but mysterious, robot, and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother. Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci and Patti Harrison round out the cast.
“The Ark and the Aardvark” follows an aardvark named Gilbert that lands the job of shepherding all the animals onto Noah’s Ark. Big names in the ensemble include Aubrey Plaza, Miles Teller, Stephen Merchant, Craig Robinson and Rob Riggle.
“Dying for Sex” is a miniseries about a woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, who abandons her husband of 15 years and begins to fully explore her sexuality. Michelle Willams, Sissy Spacek, Rob Delaney, Jay Duplass and Kelvin Yu also star.
“Mindful” mines comedy from modern technology. When the film’s hero’s husband unexpectedly passes away while using the Mindful app for meditation, Angela (Slate), who has grave doubts about the new wellness fad, discovers that paranormal forces have merged with the technology. No ther cast members have been announced yet.
